New Crusader Kings II DLC: Monks and Mystics Announced By Dann Sullivan On Dec 3, 2016 0 Paradox Interactive have announced a new DLC titled Monks and Mystics which will be focused on adding more depth to the religious system with cults, orders and a deeper heresy system. Crusader Kings II is as much a role-playing game as it is a grand strategy. In the past, however, you were always playing the role of a ruler trying to keep their domain in check and expanding where possible. Monks & Mystics really offers the first opportunity to play Crusader Kings II in a much more creative role-playing manner.

Developers recently deployed a new patch for 'Crusader Kings II,' and among the many things it contains are new additions meant to flesh out the contents of the 'Monks and Mystics' expansion pack further.
The patch is now in open beta testing, and for those players interested, developers have laid out exactly how this new downloadable impacts the game.
Detailed in a new post on the Paradox Interactive forums, developers shared that Patch 2.7.1 makes changes to the Monastic Orders that were added via the 'Monks and Mystics' expansion pack.
To be more specific, Spiritual Guidance, Teach Virtue and Convert County are now available as powers for Monastic Order Ranks 2, 3 and 4 respectively.
Patch 2.7.1 also brings a new event that will enable members of the Monastic Order to get rid of heretical books.

Players can now also check out the new Demon Hunter events that have recently been added to the game.
Other changes in Patch 2.7.1 will also affect some of the other elements introduced via the 'Monks and Mystics' expansion.
For instance, the Invite Holy Ascetic Monastic Order power has been buffed up, while devil worshippers who have been identified inside the game may also end up becoming the targets of Holy Wars.
Assassins may also find that it is now more difficult for them to have their way inside 'Crusader Kings II,' with the patch nerfing their intimidating powers.
There are also more Hermetic artifacts that are now easier to access, especially for characters that possess a very high level of learning.

Today, publisher Paradox Interactive and its in-house studio Paradox Development Studio's newest expansion for Crusader Kings II, Monks and Mystics, launches today on PC, Mac, and Linux. And to celebrate, Paradox has released a new launch trailer
For those that don't know: Crusader Kings II is a grand strategy game set in the Middle Ages that released back in February of 2012. The game has been Paradox's second most successful release to date, after only Cities: Skylines, with over 1 million copies sold. The game is essentially the closet you can come to playing a true Game of Thrones style game, especially if you activate the Game of Thrones mod.
Monks and Mystics specifically is the game's newest expansion. In the add-on, your ruler has the chance to join religious societies to improve their standing with both humankind and God (or the gods). You can join a monastic order and pursue traditional virtues and learning, or seek out the kind of knowledge only available to those skilled in alchemy and astrology. More of a cult guy? No problem, as with this expansion you can also join underground religious cults to weaken the church or to pray to elemental forces of darkness to unlock new and terrible powers.

The pack includes five news songs: Angus Dei, Ave Maris Stella, Deus Misere, Mystery, and Rorate. According to Paradox, these songs 'transport your soul to heavenly heights while you scheme and plot on earth.'
